This rare dollar was ordered to be made under the Dominion of Canada Currency Act of 1910. A specialized coining press was purchased, but later it was decided that the coins would not be made. Two dollars were struck in silver, and one in lead. This coin is unique and is housed in the Canadian National Currency Museum.
