Obverse
Elizabeth II Effigy facing right
Reverse
Crowned double L monogram within wreath. In the 17th and 18th Century, New France was faced with coin shortages. When France was shipping in more coins on the ship "Le Chameau" in 1725, it crashed off the coast of Cape Breton and all the coins were lost. In 1965 these coins were found again. This coin's design features a replica of the original gold coins from "Le Chameau."
