A composition depicting the text of the Treaty of Rome, signed by the six founding countries in EU, on background evocating the spirit of the paving of the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome designed by Michelangelo where the Treaty was signed on 25 March, 1957, in circle the inscription: "ΣΥΝΘΗΚΗ ΤΗΣ ΡΩΜΗΣ - 50 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ROMA ANLASMASI - 50 YIL" and the face value of the coin 1£ below
