Obverse
Bust of Ceres, as an allegory of Italy, taken from the fresco "Venus, Juno and Ceres" painted by the school of Raffaelo Sanzio after drawings i n the maestro's hand for the Loggia of Cupid and Psyche of Villa Farnesina in Rome. Above the left shoulder of Ceres is the name of the author.

Detail from the "Abduction of Europa" by Veronese, displayed at the Capitoline Picture Gallery in Rome, surrounded at right by the twelve stars of Europe. At left of the figure the value, the date and the mintmark.
