Obverse
On the obverse coins in the central part the emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is depicted. In the lower part - the number "500" and the inscription "ТЕҢГЕ", denoting the face value of the coin. In the left and right sectors, an element of national ornament is mirrored, along the rim - inscriptions "ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ" in the state language and "РЕСПУБЛИКА КАЗАХСТАН" in Russian. The logo of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located at the top.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the coins in the central part there is a fragment of the front side of the banknote of 100 tenge denomination of the 1993 model, on which the portrait of Abylai Khan is placed. On the circumference there is an inscription "АБЫЛАЙ ХАН" in the state language, the number "2017" denoting the year of coinage, and graphic elements from the banknote. In the upper part there is an inscription indicating the metal from which the coin is made, its sample and the mass of "Ag 925 31,1g"
