The obverse of the coin features the Vytis in the centre on a shield, surrounded by the inscription LIETUVA (Lithuania), year of issue (2011), denomination (50 litas), mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint, and an element of the brick wall of Vilnius Upper Castle.
Reverse
The reverse of the coin features a stylised image of Vilnius Upper Castle on a background of the city. At the top is the inscription VILNIAUS AUKŠTUTINĖ PILIS.
