Heraldic and graphic elements which symbolize the 1848 Romanian Revolution; the emblem of the Revolution used on some documents and even on the Revolution badges in Wallachia; Romania's Coat of Arms and the year of issue "1998" on the lower part; the inscription "ROMANIA" on the upper part, engraved circularly; the face value is engraved horizontally, boarding the heraldic elements ("500" on the left and "LEI" on the right).
Reverse
Effigy of a young woman which symbolizes the Revolutionary Romania as main element; the text "LIBERTATE EGALITATE FRATIETATE" (liberty, equality, fraternity) which represents the ideals of the Revolution is placed circularly on the upper part; on the lower part, the circular inscription "ROMANIA REVOLUTIONARA" and the years "1848", "1998".
