The obverse reproduces an image of the monument to Vasco Núñez de Balboa, made by Mariano Benlliure, who rises in the capital of Panama.
Reverse
This coin reproduces on its back a fragment of the map called "Maris Pacifici", made in 1589, included in the work "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum", by the geographer and cartographer Abraham Ortelius, which is preserved in the Naval Museum of Madrid.
