Obverse
On the coin obverse there is the small National Emblem of Ukraine in the circle made of beads, set in cranberry bush sprays and the conventionalized inscriptions: УКРАЇНА, 2 ГРИВНІ, 1999 (Ukraine/ 2/ hryvnia/ 1999).
Reverse
On the coin reverse there is depicted the Academy main building's facade (architect Olexander Beketov, 1900) and the following inscriptions: 100 РОКІВ (100 Years) and НАЦІОНАЛЬНА ГІРНИЧА АКАДЕМІЯ УКРАЇНИ (the National Mining Academy of Ukraine)
