Obverse
Above there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) and the coin issue year indication 2013 thereunder; in the centre there are the images of tachanka (horse-drawn machine gun platform) in relief and horses (dark in colour); thereunder are the coin face value 2 ГРИВНІ (2 hryvnias) and the National Bank of Ukraine Mint mark (to the left).
Reverse
Bears a portrait of Nestor Makhno (to the left) and wheatears with the inscriptions between them ЗЕМЛЯ / ВОЛЯ / НАРОДНА / ВЛАДА (land / liberty / people`s / power) (to the right); in between there is the vertical inscription НЕСТОР МАХНО (Nestor Makhno) with indication of the years of his life 1888/1934 to the left thereof.
