Description:
Obverse
The coin commemorates the 170th anniversary of the birth of Ivan KARPENKO-KARY, one of the founders of the Ukrainian professional theatre , playwright and actor.
The coin obverse bears: on the top: Small State Emblem of Ukraine and the semicircular inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ;in the centre: on stage, topped symbol theatre - masks of comedy and tragedy, a fragment of the play , with the inscription 'Хазяїн','Сто тисяч`(One hundred thousand) as a symbol of infinite talent of Ivan Karpenko-Kary; at the bottom - 2 hryvnia denomination, year of issue 2015 (right) and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine (left).
Reverse
Reverse bears composition which symbolizes acting and directing talents of Ivan Karpenko Kary: he stands with puppets of his heroes; at the top top: semicircular inscription Іван Карпенко-Карий (Ivan Karpenko-Kary) and years of life 1845 - 1907 (left).
