Description:
Obverse
On the coin obverse there is depicted the composition made of a guelder rose, plants and a towel. Upon the background of it there is an inscription: 2005, the coin issue year; in the center of the composition there is the small National Emblem of Ukraine, under it there are Hetman's symbols of power and a Cossacks sabre. On its left and right there are conventionalized flowers and birds amidst of which there is the inscription: УКРАЇНА, 5 ГРИВЕНЬ (Ukraine/ 5 / hryvnia). On the coin there is also a depiction of the Mint logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse
On the coin reverse there is a multi-figured composition depicting a reception of a newly-married couple by their parents. They are holding an icon and weddings round loaf in their hands; above there is the Protection of the Virgin. To the right there is a semicircular inscription: ПОКРОВА (Protection of the Virgin).
