Description:
Obverse
The left half of the obverse features the logo of the Bulgarian National Bank and the year ‘1879’ inscribed on the ribbon. Underneath there is the nominal value of the coin ‘10 ЛЕВА’ (BGN 10), and next to the separating line there is the year of issue ‘2011’. The inscription ‘БЪЛГАРСКА НАРОДНА БАНКА’ (Bulgarian National Bank) goes in circumference. The right half of the coin features the icon of St. George Zograf kept at the Zograf Monastery on Mount Athos.
Reverse
The reverse features an old 19th century engraving, depicting the building of the St. George Zograf Monastery, and the inscription ‘МАНАСТИР „СВ. ГЕОРГИ ЗОГРАФ”’ (St. George Zograf Monastery) going in circumference above.
