Description:
Obverse
The obverse of the coin features an image of a seal of Khan Tervel in a gold-plated medallion; the nominal value ‘10 ЛЕВА’ (BGN 10), the BNB logo with the year ‘1879’ on the strip and the year of issue ‘2017’ are inscribed underneath. At the top, in circumference, there is an inscription ‘БЪЛГАРСКА НАРОДНА БАНКА’ (Bulgarian National Bank).
Reverse
Silver (.925) partially gold-plated.
The reverse features an image of Khan Tervel leading the Bulgarian army separated by a pitted ring; there are the inscriptions ‘СРЕДНОВЕКОВНИ БЪЛГАРСКИ ВЛАДЕТЕЛИ’ (Medieval Bulgarian Rulers) and ‘ХАН ТЕРВЕЛ’ (Khan Tervel) in circumference.
