Obverse
On the obverse (obverse) of the coin in the central part on an ornamental background is the coat of arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan framed with the inscriptions "ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ" in the state language and "РЕСПУБЛИКА КАЗАХСТАН" in Russian. In the lower part - the inscription "500 ТЕҢГЕ" denoting the nominal value of the coin, the number "2017" denoting the year of coinage and the inscription "Ag 925 31.1 g.", Denoting the metal from which the coin is made, its sample and mass. In the upper part - the inscription "В. ТВЕРДОХЛЕБОВ", "Ы. АЛТЫНСАРИН" in the state language and the logo of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the coin is a fragment of a mosaic panel dedicated to the outstanding enlightener Ybyray Altynsarin (project manager V. Tverdokhlebov). The color solution is performed using color printing technology.
