Obverse
On the obverse side of the coins in the central part are depicted the mythological symbols of the constellations of the star chart of the firmament and the inscription denoting the metal from which the coin was made, its sample and mass. On the perimeter of the coin there is a wide edging , on which there is a die on the circumference with an inscription "500 ТЕҢГЕ" denoting the face value of the coin, the inscribed "ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ" inscription in the state language, "REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN" in English and a stylized image of the sun.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the coins in the central part, a dog is depicted - a symbol of 2018 on the eastern calendar and the logo of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located. On the perimeter of the coin there is a wide frosted edging on which there is a die with the inscription "2018" on the circumference, the inscription "ШЫҒЫС КҮНТІЗБЕСI" in the official language, "ВОСТОЧНЫЙ КАЛЕНДАРЬ" in Russian and "ORIENTAL CALENDAR" in English. On the inside of the matted edge are the remaining eleven symbols of the eastern calendar.
