Description:
Obverse
On the obverse, inside a circle, the image of "Hispania" is reproduced, a midwife reclining in the Pyrenees, with her feet in the Strait of Gibraltar and with an olive branch in her hand, a motif that appeared in the first national broadcast of pesetas of 1869.
Reverse
On the reverse, an interpretation of the Greek myth of the Rapture of Europe by Zeus is reproduced. Europe was the beautiful daughter of Agenor and Telefasa, kings of Tire. Zeus fell for his beauty and decided to metamorphose into a bull, her favorite animal. When Europe saw the animal, it was mounted on its back. Taking advantage of this, Zeus launched himself into the sea and took her to Crete.
